The Stockport Town Hall Wedding that went viral

My first time as the wedding photographer at Stockport Town Hall and I still can’t believe my photographs from this day went viral! It helps that my couple were Cory and Katie, the most gorgeous girls I have ever had the opportunity to photograph! They were also the happiest! They got married on possibly the rainiest, wettest day of the whole of 2026! It did not stop raining all day! But to Cory and Katie, it did not matter one bit!

I was photographing Cory and Katie’s legal wedding ceremony ahead of their destination wedding in Spain later in the Summer. It was rather rushed and we didn’t have long to do Cory and Katie’s couple’s shots and due to the rain, they all had to be taken inside Stockport Town Hall so I think I did them in about 10 minutes and they might be some of my favourite ever wedding photographs I’ve taken!

Photographing Cory and Katie was easy, not because they’re gorgeous, but because they were living entirely in the moment of the wedding day. They weren’t posing, nothing was forced, they were simply completely and utterly overcome with love and happiness. They were totally in love and this really comes through in the wedding photographs.

The Venue

I would love to capture more weddings at Stockport Town Hall as it is such a beautiful building! It also clearly doesn’t matter if it’s a rainy day! The light coming in through the windows of the Town Hall is so beautiful! I’m also a huge liver of micro weddings and Stockport Town Hall is perfect for a micro wedding!
